I Feel Pretty

I was overweight as a kid (got to be obese level as an adult). My dad wouldn’t let me wear makeup or dye my hair.  He would often quote a scripture to me that went something like: “Charm may be false and prettiness may be vain but the woman who fears Jehovah procures praise for herself.”…

In middle school, I had a boy walk up to me and say “wow, you are UGLY” and in high school, would have boys joke about having sex with me (joke as in, no one would want to be with HER!). It was quite traumatic…. Being raised as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, I had ONE friend because I wasn’t supposed to have friends outside the group and lived in a small town.

When I was about to turn 30, I just decided I was worth being attractive and got some help physically and emotionally… Now, I’m a healthy weight and am getting used to a whole new way of being.

My GORGEOUS friends have taught me that self-image comes from the inside. You can never be good-looking enough to feel that way about yourself. It comes from within…

I’m grateful for my life now!

I’ve wanted to start a blog for a very long time and as with any change, nothing happens until you take the first step.  So, here my virtual friends, is my first step.
